Hospitals of Providence invite community to Free Heart Health Screening Event

As February is Heart Month,  The Hospitals of Providence want to help El Pasoans stay Heart Healthy through prevention, education and treatment.

The community is encouraged to take advantage of the Free Heart Health Screening event, taking place from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 27, 2021, at The Hospitals of Providence Specialty Campus.

Officials remind attendees that the event is by appointment only, spots are limited to allow for social distancing, register by clicking here.

“No matter your age, Heart Health matters.,” THOP officials share. “According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), heart disease is the #1 leading cause of death in the United States. An important part of lowering your risk for Heart Disease is managing your healthy behaviors and risk factors, such as exercise, diet, smoking, BMI, blood pressure, cholesterol and glucose levels. A heart screening is an important first step in preventing heart disease.”

Heart Screening will include blood pressure, glucose, and body mass index BMI screening.  Fasting is encouraged for accurate results.
