The Hospitals of Providence is continuing their vaccination efforts to vaccinate the most vulnerable population of adults 75 years and older in rural and underserved areas of town.
As part of their efforts, the healthcare system is working with many elected leaders and community organizations to identify areas of town and individuals most in need.
On Friday, El Paso County Commissioner Iliana Holguin from Precinct 3 visited the vaccine clinic at The Hospitals of Providence East Campus to meet some of those individuals who were able to receive their vaccine.
County Commissioner Holguin and her office were able to identify a list of individuals in the far East side area, to include the Socorro and Montana Vista area and also arranged for transportation for those individuals who otherwise would not have been able to get to the hospital.
Through The Hospitals of Providence, elected leaders and community organizations, individuals within this population are being contacted directly and scheduled to receive their vaccine.
“The Hospitals of Providence is eager to receive more allocations so they can continue their efforts,” organizers added.
