Hospitals of Providence’s ‘Strides Against Stroke Walk’ goes virtual this Saturday
This year, the annual Strides Against Stroke Walk goes virtual, and officials with the Hospitals of Providence invite the community to join in and take strides towards stroke awareness.
“Due to the current health crisis, The Hospitals of Providence will be holding its annual Strides Against Stroke Walk in a manner that will keep participants safe while also raising awareness and educating the public about one of the country’s largest health risks, stroke,” THOP officials shared via a news release.
800,000 strokes are reported annually in the United States and 80 percent of strokes can be prevented through education and care.
As part of the virtual event, participants can pick their favorite trails, parks or neighborhoods to walk on Saturday, May 30 at 9:00am.
Once out on the walk, participants can wear red, snap a photo and post it to social media using the hashtag #StridesAgainstStroke.
