Hospitals of Providence Announce New CEO of Transmountain Campus

The Hospitals of Providence has announced Nicholas (Nico) Tejeda has been named chief executive officer of The Hospitals of Providence Transmountain Campus, the teaching hospital slated to open in 2017 in partnership with Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso.

Nico succeeds Hank Hernandez, who departed the organization earlier this month.

As CEO of The Hospital of Providence’s newest facility or campus, Nico will oversee the final development of the 106-bed teaching hospital, which was created in partnership with the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and slated to open in early 2017.

Throughout his tenure at Tenet, Nico has served in a number of progressive leadership roles, including CEO at The Hospitals of Providence East Campus, CEO of Doctors Hospital of Manteca in Manteca, California and chief operating officer of Twin Cities Community Hospital in Templeton, California.

While an executive search is underway to identify new leadership for The Hospitals of Providence East Campus, Brandon May, current COO at East Campus, will serve as interim CEO.
