Humane Society hosting 30th Annual K9 Classic “A Walk for Animals” this Sunday

The Humane Society of El Paso, the area’s local no-kill, non- profit shelter, is celebrating 30 years of hosting the K-9 Classic “A Walk for Animals.”

The walk is an annual fundraiser the shelter has to benefit the animals under their care. This year, the event will get underway at 9:00 am with a one mile walk around Eastwood Park (3001 Parkwood Street) on Sunday, April 28, 2019 from 8:00 am – 1:00 pm.

Participants will finish at the Gary Del Palacio Recreation Center, where they can then enjoy local vendors, food trucks, games, entertainment and pet contests hosted by Bill Clifton of Sunny 99.9 radio.

The shelter is asking the public to help them reach their goal of $30,000 by collecting donors on their behalf. The individual to raise the most funds will be named “Leader of the Pack” and receive a grand prize.

A raffle will be held for those who raised $60 or more to win a HSEP prize bag. Other contests include “Largest Team” and “Most Spirited Team”.

Registration is available online or can be done in person at the Humane Society of El Paso – 4991 Fred Wilson Ave.
