“Humble Spirits” Documentary on Jennifer Han and Family Debuts

A local filmmaker’s work on ‘El Paso’s Sweetheart’ and her family is now available for viewing via several streaming services.

Andrew Jara’s documentary “Humble Spirits: A family of fighters” has been released via Video On Demand (VOD) on Amazon Prime, Roku and Vewd through Bounty Films.

‘Humble Spirits: A Family of Fighters’ tells the story of the Han Family, a group of professional and amateur boxers out of El Paso, who have become a staple of the El Paso boxing scene.  The story focuses on the Han family, including Jennifer and Abraham Han.

Jennifer Han is currently the IBF featherweight title holder and holds the unofficial title of ‘El Paso’s sweetheart.’

Jara shares that he wanted to tell their story after seeing Jennifer fight in 2012; following the family for two years.

With the help of interviews from boxers, trainers and the Hans themselves, he hopes to tell the story of not just the fighters but the family as well.

The film opened to a sold out crowd at the El Paso Film festival and will now be released worldwide through Bounty Films.

Jara’s previous two films “Borderland” and “The Last Ones” were also released through Bounty films.
