IDEA Public School officials announced Friday afternoon announced the addition of two new schools: IDEA Mesquite Hills Academy and College Prep.
The new campus will open in August 2021 with grades Pre-K – 2nd and 6th grade and add a new grade level each year until fully scaled as a Pre-K – 12 grade campus.
“We are excited about the continued expansion of IDEA schools in El Paso with the addition of IDEA Mesquite Hills,” says Dr. Ernesto Cantu, Executive Director of IDEA El Paso.
“We look forward to serving and supporting students, families, and community members in the El Paso area. Our top priority is providing a quality education to students that will prepare them for college and life.”
IDEA officials add that, for the 14th consecutive year, 100 percent of seniors have been accepted to and matriculated to college.
Applications are now open for the 2021-2022 school year. Parents can apply for IDEA Mesquite Hills and all IDEA El Paso schools via this link.
After applying, a random lottery will be held on February 20, 2021 to determine which students will fill spots available at each IDEA school.
Students who are not randomly selected to attend IDEA will be placed on a wait list, and the order of the wait list will be randomly determined. The applications of students on the wait list will remain on file for the remainder of the 2021-2022 school year.
If a spot becomes available, students will be selected from the wait list, and parents will be notified of their selection and informed of next steps.
