IDEA Public Schools to distribute 1st dose of Pfizer vaccine at vaccination clinic open to El Paso community

Officials with IDEA Public Schools announced Monday that they will be hosting a FREE COVID-19 vaccine clinic this weekend.

The clinic is scheduled for Saturday, May 1, 2021, from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. at IDEA Edgemere, on the city’s far east side.

“The state has approved several IDEA Public Schools regions as a COVID-19 vaccine provider,” IDEA officials shared. “To expand access to the communities that have had limited opportunities to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, this clinic is public and open to anyone ages 16 and older.”

This is for the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine. The second dose will be offered at the same location and time on Saturday, May 22nd.

Those interested in receiving the vaccine can register for an appointment online here.

For the safety of staff and students, IDEA Public Schools has a goal to have 80 percent of all staff members immunized by the end of the school year.

District officials add that  over 4,100 staff members have reported receiving at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
