Isabel Marie Sánchez joins El Paso Symphony Orchestra to celebrate life, legacy of Selena

Vocalist Isabel Marie Sánchez will join the El Paso Symphony Orchestra, led by conductor Bohuslav Rattay, for an unforgettable and emotional tribute to “The Queen of Tejano Music.”

Sánchez and the orchestra will be performing iconic hits like “Dreaming of You,” “Como la Flor,” “Bidi Bidi Bom Bom” and more during the March 7th performance.

Sánchez – born in Chicago and currently residing in San Antonio –  has been featured on many local and international television shows.

She was a participant on the international hit show La Voz Kids (NBC) – Season 3, where she received a “3 chair turn” and standing ovation from all the judges as well as the audience.

Natalia Jimenez, Spanish singer, songwriter and coach on La Voz Kids, praised her for having “a voice of a Goddess” and being an “exceptional vocalist.” She also was a contestant and 1st place winner on Sabado Gigante (Univison), one of the nation’s longest running Spanish-language television programs.

In 2015, she was chosen and personally asked by the Quintanilla family to perform Selena’s hit “No Me Queda Mas” at the 35th Annual Tejano Music Award.

In 2016, Isabel performed for the official MAC Selena makeup line world-wide launch in Corpus Christi.  That same year, she performed with the San Antonio Symphony for the Fiesta Pops Concert. Isabel released her 2nd album Sigueme with the legendary Mr. Abraham Quintanilla “Mr. Q” (Selena’s father) at Q-zone records alongside Grammy-award winning producer Brian “Red” Moore.

Her new album features a duet with Mexican-American songwriter Pete Astudillo, backup dancer and singer for the band Selena y Los Dinos.

The Music of Selena is generously sponsored by DATAMARK, Inc. The El Paso Symphony Orchestra is supported in part by the City of El Paso Museums and Cultural Affairs Department, the Texas Commission on the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts.
