With the kids out of school and temperatures rapidly rising, the sidewalk outside of the Jalisco Cafe will again spring to life with books and raspas.
Hector Chavez, proprietor of the Jalisco Cafe has once again partnered with Books Santo Nino, El Paso’s newest registered non profit, to bring this event to the Segundo Barrio. The event is scheduled for the 4th of July, 10am to 4pm.
Books Santo Nino is a group of El Paso book lovers who love and want to share the printed word. This is one of several book giveaways that will be held throughout Southern New Mexico and Texas.
As has been the case for the last two years, the sidewalks around the Jalisco Cafe will once again be lined with tables of books. Books for children, fiction & non fiction, autobiographies, history, fantasy; all gently used books and ready for your reading pleasure.
Families and visitors can choose as many books as they’d like, all while enjoying a complimentary raspa from the Raspa Patrol, Jalisco-style con nieve (ice cream).
For more information, or if you have books to donate please contact Rick Melendrez @ 915-565-1663. Businesses, organizations, churches, etc, wishing to have a similar book giveaway can call that number as well.
