In the wake of the national pandemic, Kendra Scott quickly put a heightened focus on her core pillar of Philanthropy, using her commitment to giving back as our guiding light during this unprecedented time.
Scott, best known for her jewelry stores, has also made giving back to the communities where her stores are located a priority.
As a Texas-founded, Texas-based brand, Scott gave $4,314.86 to Las Palmas Del Sol Healthcare through the HCA Healthcare Hope Fund to support local HCA Healthcare family members and over $8,000 in total giveback across the city as a result of curbside purchases in El Paso.
Scott has always been committed to giving back to our communities where they need it most, and during this time they learned to shift quickly to address the evolving needs.
In addition to raising over 3 million meals for Feeding America, and making and donating masks for frontline workers, another way the Kendra Scott brand sought to give back locally was through her stores.
“Since May 1, we’ve slowly started reopening our stores – beginning with Texas – in the safest way possible, implementing curbside pickup, in-store shopping appointments, and store reopenings at limited capacity,” Scott shares.
“20% of the proceeds from all curbside orders placed between April 24 through May 10 were given to local state hospitals to assist in COVID-19 relief efforts. In total, over $390k was generated in giveback across the state of Texas.”
The donation was made directly to the HCA Healthcare Hope Fund—an employee-supported charity that helps HCA Healthcare employees and their immediate families who are affected by financial hardship including disaster, extended illness/injury, domestic violence, death of a loved one, and other special situations.
As part of HCA Healthcare, Las Palmas Medical Center and Del Sol Medical Center employees are eligible for assistance from the Hope Fund.
