Multiplatinum rapper and hip-hop artist Kevin Gates will celebrate Labor Day with a special concert at the El Paso County Coliseum.
El Paso fans will be able to catch Gates in concert at the Coliseum before he kicks off the 24-city tour October 2 in Austin.
The popular performer and entrepreneur will take over the Coliseum, 4100 East Paisano, on Monday, September 3, with a cavalcade of up-and-coming rappers, including Yella Beezy, Kap G, Dub-T, Johnny Oz, Gank Gaank, Young L Da Lonegun, Party Boi, Yse Lil G, Nae 90, Slaughter Queen and Henney Hardaway.
Gates has been on the rap and hip-hop scene since 2007. The Louisiana native released his debut album, “Isiah,” in 2016 and has more than a dozen mixtapes under his belt.
Since being released from prison in January, Gates has dropped a three-song EP, “Chained to the City,” and has announced his nationwide “Luca Brasi 3 Tour” in support of his forthcoming project of the same name, the third mixtape in his popular “Luca Brasi” series.
Gates also started his own record label, BWA (Bread Winners’ Association), with his wife Dreka in 2010.
The concert gets underway at 6 p.m. Tickets are $45.50, $55.50, $75.50 and $150, plus fees, and are available at the El Paso County Coliseum Box Office, all Ticketmaster outlets, by phone at 800-745-3000 and online.
