Las Cruces International Film Festival kicks off with Richard Dreyfuss film

The annual Las Cruces International Film Festival returns this week, kicking off with a screening of Richard Dreyfuss’ film and a special Q and A with the star.

The festival, presented by New Mexico State University and Visit Las Cruces runs from March 4th through the 8th at the Cineport 10- Allen Theatres at Mesilla Valley Mall.

Festival officials share that attendees will see a wide variety of films including documentaries, short subjects, animation and foreign films in all genres.

In addition to the films, well-known industry professionals and celebrities will be on hand, with many participating in question-and-answer sessions after some of the films, as well as participate in workshops and panel discussions throughout the week.

WHAT: Las Cruces Film Festival film screenings and workshops

WHO: This year’s guests and honorees include Academy Award-winning actor Richard Dreyfuss, Academy Award nominee Graham Green, Krista Bridges, Bella Heathcote, Judge Reinhold, and Tom Schulman.

WHEN: 7 p.m. March 4 the festival’s opening night film “Astronaut” starring Richard Dreyfuss will screen, followed by a Q&A with Dreyfuss, actor Kristen Bridges, director Shelagh McLeod and producer Jessica Adams.
