Las Palmas Medical Center names new chief nursing officer – Christine Walker
Las Palmas Medical Center has named Christine Walker its new chief nursing officer (CNO).
Walker most recently served as associate chief nursing officer at St. David’s South Austin Medical Center, a 368-bed acute care hospital in Austin, TX, where she directly supervised emergency services, oncology/bone marrow inpatient and outpatient services, critical care services, environmental services, and food and nutrition services.
As CNO, Walker will oversee nursing operations as well as processes and resources to improve patient care. She assumed this new role on Jan. 10, 2022.
Walker brings with her over 21 years’ experience in healthcare leadership roles, serving as nurse manager, director of nursing, interim director of nursing, and associate chief nursing officer at various healthcare systems across Texas.

Originally from the United Kingdom, Walker eventually relocated to Fort Worth and served as nurse manager at Cook Children’s Medical Center for eight years. Since then, Walker has served in various leadership capacities, including overseeing several different trauma and women’s services centers.
Walker earned a Doctoral Studies in nursing practice degree from Texas Tech University in 2016. She also earned a Master of Business Administration, Master of Science in nursing and healthcare degrees from the University of Phoenix, where she also earned her bachelor’s in nursing degree.
