Public Library, Locomotive FC team up for National Library Card Sign-Up Month

As September is National Library Card Sign-Up Month, the El Paso Public Library, Locomotive FC and libraries across the nation remind everyone that the most important school supply of all is a library card.

This year, the Locomotive FC and their mascot Ozzy are joining the annual campaign to encourage local students and fans to sign-up for a free library card. Ozzy will be featured as the poster icon for the campaign.

“We are excited to partner with the El Paso Public Library for this initiative,” said Sarah Nollner, Locomotive FC Director of Marketing and Communications. “Locomotive FC and Ozzy encourage everyone to continue to read and learn and know that a library card is the easiest way to do that!”

Residents can get a free library card by filling out an online application on the library’s website. After the application is complete, patrons will have 30 days to pick up their library card.

“We are excited and pleased to offer this new online application process for library cards which will make it much easier and more convenient for everyone to get their cards,” said Library Director Norma Martinez. “Our intent is to make library services available to all El Pasoans and to encourage everyone to read and learn.”
