In addition, East El Paso will feature iWave bipolar ionization technology to clean the air and make it safer for guests and teammates. Bipolar ionization technology releases charged atoms that attach to and kill harmful substances like bacteria, mold, allergens, and viruses in the building’s air and on surfaces.

The iWave system has been integrated into Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Montecillo’s HVAC system. Experts say that bipolar ionization can reduce 99.9% of microbes in a matter of minutes, thus helping to ensure a safe moviegoing experience for El Paso movie-lovers.

“We will screen new releases, classics, independent films, foreign movies, and Alamo Drafthouse’s unique signature programming,” theater officials shared. “Additionally, each auditorium eliminates the traditional front row, ensuring every seat in the house allows for a great viewing experience.”

The Theater will have an adjacent bar/lounge with outdoor patio seating, serving up a large selection of craft beers on tap and handcrafted cocktails.
