Live Active EP Encourages the Community to Remain Healthy During the Holidays

Live Active El Paso is encouraging the community to remain healthy and active during the holiday season by participating in various free health and wellness activities and classes throughout the city.

December is filled with various health and wellness series covering different mental health and overall wellness topics such as overcoming holiday blues, visualizing your new year and a financial wellness series for holiday spending.

“The holiday season, especially during the pandemic, can be a tricky time to stay active and maintain healthy habits,” said Strategic Initiatives Coordinator Diana Cepeda. “The Live Active El Paso initiative provides free health activities and workshops from our health partners that help offset the stress that can come from the holidays. We encourage the community to take advantage of these free sessions offered at various City facilities in December.”

Children are encouraged to stay active during their winter break, too. One option is the El Paso Parks and Recreation’s Sport and Fitness Camp for kids 10 to 14 years old, which was created partnership with Empowerment Health and Wellness. The free weeklong camp will focus on different sports skills, conditioning and a nutrition class with snacks.

All programs are held on different dates and in different parts of the city. Registration is not required to attend any of the free, family-friendly programs. A calendar of events and locations can be found on www.liveactiveep.com/events.
