Local health care providers gear up for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

As October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, local health care providers have various check ups, mammograms and more to help beat breast cancer.

The Hospitals of Providence (THOP) recognizes Breast Cancer Awareness Month with special mammogram events to encourage women to get their exam and the importance of early detection.

“Knowing how busy women are in their daily lives, the breast imaging centers are offering Saturday extended hours to ensure women have time to get this important exam done,” THOP officials shared.

On Saturday, October 3 and October 10, The Imaging Center Trawood, 2400 Trawood St.; Imaging Center West, 601 Sunland Park Dr.; and The Breast and Women’s Health Center East, 3270 Joe Battle Blvd. will offer $60 breast screenings and $130 3D imaging during mammo events. (cash pricing available during the entire month of October)

The Hospitals of Providence officials encourage women not to delay wellness visits and necessary screenings such as mammograms.

Appointments are available by calling (915) 577-7777.
