Local Rugby Teams Prepare for Sun City 7’s This Saturday
This summer promises hard-hitting, non-stop action in a local battle royale for our city and the title of ‘Best in the Borderland’ when it comes to Rugby 7s.
With multiple Men’s Rugby teams from El Paso and Juarez, rugby is swiftly gaining steam in the Borderplex, and the Sun City 7’s are a way to see who’s the best around. These are friendly matches, but there’s nothing cordial about it.
In rugby, camaraderie is built with every crushing blow and respect is earned.
Rugby 7’s differ from the standard rugby match (where 15 to a side play) as noted by the 7’s – meaning 7 players to a side, on a smaller field.
Located at McArthur Park (738 Gerald Drive), the second tournament of the summer begins this Saturday morning @ 10am. Food and Beverage coolers are allowed, as are folding chairs.
