Ozzy, members of the Locomotive FC staff and El Pasoans Fighting Hunger will be helping Alianza de Futbol to provide food to the local community this weekend.
On Saturday, September 12, “Alianza Contigo” a food and household items distribution event will be held at the Westside Soccer Complex, 201 Isela Rubalcava Boulevard, from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. The goal of the event is to reach 2000 families.
Alianza is the prestigious U.S. Soccer program that has seen the likes of Louis ‘Chapa’ Herrera break into professional ranks – in continuing its 16-year tradition of supporting Hispanic soccer communities.
Although their 2020 Soccer Tournament was sidelined due to the Coronavirus pandemic, Alianza de Futbol continues their dedication and energy to the Hispanic community through Alianza Contigo.
Alianza Contigo will consist of two main components: The Allstate Sueño Alianza Food Pantry which, in partnership with the El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank, will distribute food to those in need and the Verizon Copa Alianza Household Pantry which will make available household items and other important products to Hispanic families.
“We are looking forward to participating in this community event that will serve Hispanic families in El Paso.” Stated Susan Goodell, CEO El Pasoans Fighting Hunger.
Alianza Contigo will be a “touch-free” experience allowing families to drive-thru and receive food and products in a safe environment. The event allows Alianza de Futbol to continue to support the Hispanic community most affected by the pandemic.
“We have always been futbol for the people; even though we can’t provide our tournaments this year there is still the fellowship that unites us, and we are fully dedicated to supporting our community” said Joaquin Escoto, Managing Partner of BRC Group, owner of Alianza de Futbol.
“We are thankful for our partners, El Pasoans Fighting Hunger, Allstate, Verizon, Gatorade and TUDN for supporting this initiative, especially during this difficult time.
