Long-Awaited Dave and Buster’s set to Open April 4th

First announced almost a year ago, the nearly-completed Dave and Buster’s is scheduled to open on Monday, April 4th.

The opening date was first announced via a banner on Dave and Buster’s webpage. The same banner also states the location is hiring workers.  Local website El Paso Develompent News came across the banner Tuesday morning and posted it to their social media pages.

It was May of 2015 when officials with Bassett Place Center and Cypress Equities finally ended the rampant rumors of the entertainment and dining franchise coming to the Sun City.

To make way for the 36,000 square foot facility, the mall had to temporarily shut down its existing food court and relocate it elsewhere in the mall. According to information on Bassett Center’s webpage, the new food court is slated to open sometime during the “first quarter of 2016”

According to the corporate website, the new Dave and Buster’s will be open seven days a week, from 11 a.m. to 12 a.m.

This is just the latest upgrade to Bassett Place, which was first opened as Bassett Center an open-air, double-sided shopping center in 1962. By the early 70’s, the mall undertook a massive project to enclose the shopping space, thereby becoming the city’s first enclosed mall.

The last major expansion of the mall took place just a few years ago, when Premiere Cinemas opened, followed by the city’s first dedicated IMAX Theater.
