UPDATE: Major power outage in Lower Valley leaves 6000+ in the dark Sunday night

According to El Paso Electric, some 6000+ customers were left without power late Sunday night, for an unknown reason.

The outage happened shortly before 11pm and stretched along Alameda, south of North Loop, from Yarbrough to Horizon Boulevard.  The EP Electric website indicated that crews were outbound to the locations to restore power.

As with any outage, intersections with malfunctioning stoplights should be treated as four-way stops.

For up-to-date information on the outage, visit the EP Electric outage page HERE.
