El Paso Mayor Oscar Leeser is hosting the largest and first of its kind Financial Familiarization (FAM) Tour on Wednesday, October 26, and Thursday, October 27, that will showcase the City’s booming economy and economic potential to bond underwriters and investors from across the country.
“I’m excited to host this unique financial FAM Tour. It’s the sixth and largest tour that gives our City another opportunity to highlight and illustrate what we have to offer to more than 50 investors who are looking to expand. This tour, in particular, gives our guests a chance to see the progress the City has made, our successes and all of the great business and economic opportunities that the border has to offer,” said El Paso Mayor Oscar Leeser.
The Financial FAM Tour is the sixth and largest tour since Mayor Leeser took office. It’s designed to provide a “behind the scenes” view of the City’s financial status as it relates to bonds and conducting business with the City of El Paso to more than 50 bond underwriters and investors from more than 20 different companies from across the nation.
The tour also allows investors to experience firsthand the sights, activities, and most importantly, the tremendous economic opportunity that El Paso has to offer.
During the two-day event, the group will interact with City leaders, UTEP and EPCC officials and various school districts, as well as state and regional officials.
The tours have allowed Mayor Leeser to develop strong relationships and partnerships that have resulted in job creation, new employment opportunities, a great quality of life, and facilitate business growth at local and international levels.
The tours represent a tremendous opportunity to see the importance of El Paso’s strategic location, its natural and man-made assets, as well as the world-class workforce initiatives and the City’s stunning quality of life.
Familiarization tours are an economic development tool used to introduce potential influencers and key decision makers to lean about what the El Paso region has to offer. The FAM Tours are not paid with tax payer money; they are solely funded through the generosity of private businesses.
