Mayor Margo travels to Washington for U.S. Conference of Mayors

WASHINGTON, DC – Mayor Dee Margo is attending the U.S. Conference of Mayors’ 88th Winter Meeting.

“It is an honor to represent El Paso at the U.S. Conference of Mayors and share with Mayors from across the country the unique nature of our border region,” said Mayor Margo.

The sessions are taking place January 22 through 24 in Washington. Mayor Margo is Vice Chair for Border Policy, Criminal and Social Justice Standing Committee.

Mayor Margo will participate on two panels while attending the conference: Current Immigration Issues, with Mayors Eric Garcetti (Los Angeles, CA), John Giles (Mesa, AZ) and Jorge Elorza (Providence, RI); and Lessons Learned: Preventing, Preparing for, and Responding to Mass Shootings with Mayors Lori E. Lightfoot (Chicago, IL), Nan Whaley (Dayton, OH), Andy Berke (Chattanooga, TN), Gavin Buckley (Annapolis, MI), Buddy Dyer (Orlando, FL), Steven Fulop (Jersey City, NJ), Christine Hunschofsky (Parkland, FL), Sam Liccardo (San Jose, CA).

The United States Conference of Mayors is the official non-partisan organization of cities with populations of 30,000 or more. The Conference holds its Winter Meeting each January in Washington, D.C. and an Annual Meeting each June in a different U.S. city.
