Memorial Day Closures from around the El Paso Area

What follows is a list of closures for the Memorial Day Holiday.  Most national, state and local offices will be closed, as will schools and banks.

Please check with your specific institution for up-to-date information.


2019 Memorial Day Holiday Schedule – City of El Paso

In observance of the Memorial Day holiday, all City of El Paso administrative offices will be closed on Monday, May 27.

City Hall will re-open at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, May 28 and the regularly scheduled City Council meeting will begin at 9 a.m.

UTEP to be Closed for Memorial Day

The University of Texas at El Paso will be closed Monday, May 27 in observance of Memorial Day.

Regular hours of operation will resume Tuesday, May 28. Summer Session I starts June 10


EPCC Closed in Observance of Memorial Day

El Paso Community College (EPCC) will be closed in observance of Memorial Day on Monday, May 27, 2019.

The 2019 Summer Semester begins and EPCC offices will reopen on Tuesday, May 28, 2019.


SISD to be closed in observance of Memorial Day

The Socorro Independent School District will be closed on Monday, May 27 in observance of the Memorial Day holiday. Classes will resume and offices will re-open on Tuesday, May 28.


TxDoT Projects

TxDOT reminds you to do your part to stay safe this Memorial Day weekend. There are no construction closures, we’re staying out of your way! Don’t drink and drive, don’t drive distracted, buckle up and don’t speed. The National Safety Council estimates indicate 380 people may be killed on the roads during the holiday period.


Connect10 Projects

Holiday travelers won’t encounter any overnight closures or full freeway shut downs due to the I-10 Connect Project over the Memorial Day Weekend, but major closures will resume in the days and weeks following the holiday
