In just one year, support for the Mija, Yes You Can organization and their mission to empower communities of women and girls has exploded, now the team looks to celebrate with their community.
Founder Iris Lopez alongside her creation team – Shelby Montgomery, Crystal Saavedra and Susie Zambrano – look toward the celebrations taking place the weekend of March 6 in conjunction with International Women’s Day,
“We launched just before COVID-19 slammed our community, triggering childcare and work-from-home struggles,” Lopez said. “Thankfully, the Mija Project was meant to provide some motivation and support to all women during this challenging time. In just one year we have seen that this simple yet powerful phrase has gone beyond uplifting women and united a community in sending the message that anything is possible, despite the challenges.”
In partnership with Kendra Scott, the Mijas will be in the house with their pop-up shop on Saturday from 2pm – 5pm. Mija gear will be available on a first-come-first-serve basis. Shoppers can also enjoy 15% off any Kendra Scott merchandise and proceeds of all purchases over the entire weekend will benefit the Mija Project. The Kendra Scott store is located at 6801 North Mesa, Space A7.
On the far west side of town, the Mija, Yes You Can pop-up location (see below) at the Outlet Shoppes of El Paso will also be hosting an anniversary party on Saturday, March 6 during retail center hours.
Customers can enjoy snacks, giveaways, challenges, a Mija photobooth and much more while supporting women around the world.
