Miner Fans asked to help Send a Soldier to a UTEP Football Game

The “Seats for Soldiers” campaign enables UTEP football fans to send military personnel and their families to the Miners’ football game versus UTSA on Saturday, Nov. 6.

“Fort Bliss and the U.S. Army have been interwoven in the El Paso fabric for over a century,” UTEP coach Dana Dimel said.  “We can’t thank these brave young men and women enough for all that they have sacrificed to serve our country.  By participating in the ‘Seats for Soldiers’ program, our fans can express their gratitude to our military personnel and treat them to a fun night out in our beautiful Sun Bowl Stadium, watching our much-improved football team in a big game versus UTSA.”

Fans can purchase a $40 “Seats for Soldiers” package, which pays for four tickets that will be provided to military members and their families.  Additionally, every ticket purchased will be matched by UTEP Athletics – so in effect, doubling the impact of fans who support the “Seats for Soldiers” campaign.

“We’d like to thank everybody in advance for participating in this program, as well as all the Miner fans who have already taken part in the ‘Seats for Soldiers’ initiative – including the outstanding contribution made by El Paso Paper Box, Inc.,” Dimel said.

As a thank you for their support of the “Seats for Soldiers” program, fans’ names will be recognized on the video board at the game.

The UTEP-UTSA game on Nov. 6 is “Military Day” and the game will kick off at 2 p.m. MT.
