After earning four top-five team finishes during the fall, UTEP women’s golf returns to the course on Sunday for the Tulane Classic Presented by Chad Brownstein.

The tournament will be held at the English Turn Golf & Country Club (Par 72, 6,268 yards) and run from Feb. 12-14.

A total of 18 teams will be competing, including Tulane, Purdue, Charleston Southern, Rutgers, Chattanooga, Howard, Wichita State, Missouri State, South Dakota, Cal Poly, Boston College, Arkansas State, UIW, Memphis, Southern Miss, Iowa, Central Arkansas and UTEP.
Of that group, Tulane (62nd), Purdue (47th), Cal Poly (93rd), UIW (96th) and Memphis (99th) are each currently ranked in the top-100.
For the Miners, the five of Andrea Ostos, Daniela Chipchase, Marta Romeu Chen, Sophie Delfosse and Nawel Ben Letaief will be competing.
Delfosse led the way for UTEP in the fall with a 73.2 scoring average, highlighted by a fourth-place finish at the Bearkat Invitational.
Ostos and Romeu Chen each showed tremendous improvement from a season ago during the fall campaign, with Ostos chopping 2.8 strokes off her average and Romeu Chen 3.1 off hers. Ostos averaged a 74.3 and Romeu Chen a 74.7.
On Sunday, UTEP will begin the day on the 10th hole with Ben Letaief teeing off at 10:12 a.m. CT.
Over the course of the spring, the Miners are set to take part in a total of four events prior to the Conference USA Championship. Following the trip to New Orleans, UTEP heads to the GCU Invitational (Feb. 27-28), HBU Husky Invitational (March 13-14) and the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic (April 3-4).
