Miners Capture Fourth Tournament Win at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic

MARICOPA, Az. – The UTEP women’s golf team won its fourth tournament of the season after holding off rival NM State and Santa Clara at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic on Tuesday afternoon in Maricopa, Arizona.

“I am very proud of the way the team performed today,” UTEP head coach Jere Pelletier said. “They managed their games very well and made good decisions the entire tournament. We feel very confident heading into the Conference USA tournament next week.”

The Miners fired 883 as a team over 54 holes (300-286-297), taking first place out of 20 teams. It was the perfect final tuneup for the Conference USA Championships, which begin on April 15-17 in Fort Myers, Fla.
