Miners Close Out Regular Season At Don Kirby Invitational

ALBURQUERQUE, N.M. – The UTEP track and field team finish the regular season with a bang at the Don Kirby Invitational on Saturday.

“I was really pleased with the performance of our distance medley relay team, setting a school record and Antony Kosgei and Winny Koech in their performance in Washington,” head coach Mika Laaksonen said. “Tobi looked impressive and now we need to prepare for the biggest team meet at the conference championships next week.”

Tobi Amusan was the highlight of the day, running a personal best 7.98 in the 60 hurdle semifinals. In the final, Amusan trailed early in the race, but closed the gap to Oregon’s Sasha Wallace for a photo finish.
