Miners split series with UNM; win 8-5 Saturday night

After dropping the first game against the University of New Mexico Lobos Friday night, the Ice Miners came roaring back on Saturday night, dropping the frozen dogs 8 to 5.

UNm at Utep H-111Prior to Friday’s loss, the Miners had a five game win streak after sweeping Texas Tech at home during their home opening weekend.  The Miners offense has been coming from the line of Znosko, Rezaeepour and Regnier.  They continue to get solid goaltending from Lazarski while Dam and Loiselle continue to hold down the back end.

El Paso and Albuquerque are no strangers to the I-25 Rivalry for hockey dating back to the El Paso Buzzards and New Mexico Scorpions days then followed by the El Paso Rhinos and New Mexico Renegades.
