Miners wrap up Day 1 at Maridoe Intercollegiate

CARROLLTON, Texas – Freshman Jacob Presutti led UTEP in the first round of the Maridoe Intercollegiate after finishing the opening day 3-over-par in a field of 66 golfers in Carrollton.

As a team, the UTEP Men’s Golf squad finished the first day of the second annual intercollegiate, which is hosted by North Texas, 12th overall at the Maridoe Golf Club in Carrollton.

In the opening round, the Miners shot 311 (+23) and led by Presutti, who made par on 12 holes throughout the day. Eduardo Gonzalez, whose round was highlighted by a trio of birdies, finished right behind Presutti at 4-over-par.

Greg Yellin finished the day at 6-over with a score of 78, while Oskar Ambrosius ended the first round shooting 82 (+10). Cole Donielson rounded out the first 18 holes for the Miners at 11-over after shooting 83 on Sunday.

On Monday, UTEP will tee off from the 10th hole beginning at 8:40 a.m. MT, while the Miners will be paired with Nebraska and Little Rock in the second round.
