miniCAST, the largest professional development opportunity for teachers in the far West Texas and Southern New Mexico area, is set for this Fall.
Officials with STEAM Region 19, TCEA, STAT, EPISD, AISD, Clint ISD , Region 19 ESC and the UTEP Department of Geological Sciences announced Friday that the 2021 miniCAST 2021 conference will be held on October 8th and 9th.
Organizers share that miniCAST is an all day conference featuring keynote speakers, exhibit hall, workshops and more.
“miniCAST 2021 is designed to replicate the feel of larger, out-of-town education conferences, all mashed-up into a single day,” officials said. “Featuring over 60 presentations, 40 exhibitors, this year miniCAST 2021 is partnering with UTEP’s Earth Science Week Celebration for even more excitement.”
The focus of this year’s event is STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) resources that are available to teachers and students throughout the El Paso area.
MiniCAST organizers add that they are looking for community partnerships to help provide registration scholarships for area educators, information is available via this link.
Additionally, MiniCAST 2021 is currently accepting proposals for presentations, sponsorships, and registrations. All information is available online.
Officials say that districts and schools wishing to send teachers can use Title I, II, IV, and local funding. Registration is now open for all educators.
miniCAST registration is $100 until August 1 ($125 thereafter) per attendee and includes a free year membership in TCEA as well as STAT. Lunch will be provided.
