State Representative Joe Moody will be talking mental health during his monthly Westside Community Collaborative.
In addition to El Paso County Commissioner Andrew Haggerty and Rep. Moody, the featured speaker will be Rene Hurtado with Emergence Health Network, El Paso’s mental health and intellectual/developmental disabilities authority.
Leveraging grant monies from two state agencies, Emergence established the El Paso Veterans One Stop Center, a facility focused on connecting veterans with much needed resources like clinical counseling, group sessions, job fairs, educational opportunities, and other tools for reintegration into civilian life.
Emergence has also used newly granted authority to expand its substance abuse disorder services through its outreach, screening, assessment, and referral program.
Rep. Moody says, “I encourage residents to attend the forum to discuss ideas and concerns with their elected officials…this is an opportunity for us to work together to improve our community.”
The meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. at the El Paso Police Department’s Westside Regional Command Center located at 4801 Osborne Drive.
For any any questions about the event, residents can call Moody’s office at 915-751-2700.
