Covid-19 forces Municipal Court to suspends in-person services until further notice
Wednesday afternoon, officials with the Municipal Court announced the suspension of in-person services until further notice, in an effort to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
“All hearings scheduled for court will automatically be reset and notices of a new court date will be mailed,” court officials shared via a news release.
Contactless payments can still be made online, by mail, phone at (915) 212-0232 or through a drop box at all Court locations.
Arraignment hearings scheduled on, or after Monday, November 30, will be available virtually upon request.
Virtual hearings can be made sending an e-mail that includes a Full Name, Date of Birth, Citation Number, and Telephone Number to arr-previrtualhearing@elpasotexas.gov at least one (1) business day prior to your hearing.
Arraignment Hearing dates are listed on the traffic citation and court will be held between 7 to 11 a.m., and 1 to 3 p.m. An e-mail response will be provided with a Microsoft Teams link needed to attend the virtual hearing.
The following requirements are needed to participate in a virtual hearing:
- Computer/laptop, phone, or tablet with a camera, microphone, and speakers
- Microsoft Teams application must be downloaded (app is free)
