The city’s Museums and Cultural Affairs Department (MCAD) is issuing a call to local artists to create and exhibit artwork in public areas of municipal buildings as part of the 2020 Artwork Purchase Program.
The project calls for completed paintings, drawings, photographs and mixed media work to add to the public collection of artwork created by area artists that represents the artistic talent and cultural diversity in El Paso.
The Museums and Cultural Affairs Department will purchase the selected artwork and place it in public areas of municipal buildings for the community to enjoy.
“In addition, the art pieces will highlight the talent of local artists and bring attention to the robust artist community in El Paso,” MCAD officials said.
Interested artists need to fill out an online application by click on the “City of El Paso- 2020 Art Purchase Program (TX)” under “Currently Listed Calls” at .
The deadline to submit entries is before 1:00 p.m., July 28.
