Name change announced for local hospital group

Wednesday morning, officials with the Sierra Providence Health Network announced to community leaders, staff, physicians and city council members that they are now The Hospitals of Providence. The largest hospital system in El Paso renamed its hospitals and medical facilities as part of a renewed commitment to moving health forward in the El Paso Community as a unified system.

provhospProvidence Memorial Hospital, which has been providing generations of El Pasoans with a broad spectrum of advanced healthcare services since 1952 will now be named The Hospitals of Providence Memorial Campus.

Sierra Medical Center, which has been on the forefront of Cardiac and Neurological services for more than 30 years, will be named The Hospitals of Providence Sierra Campus

Sierra Providence East Medical Center, which opened its doors in 2008 to serve the fast-growing community on El Paso’s Eastside, will be named The Hospitals of Providence East Campus.

The new teaching hospital slated to open in 2017 in partnership with Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) El Paso, will be named The Hospitals of Providence Transmountain Campus.

In addition to all four acute care hospitals, all other locations and services under the health care system will carry the name The Hospitals of Providence.

The Hospitals of Providence also unveiled a new, dynamic logo which features a stylized cross with royal blue, white and gray colors.

“We are celebrating The Hospitals of Providence with a renewed vision and mission to continue providing our community with world-class care while adapting to the evolution of healthcare,” said Sally Hurt-Deitch, Market CEO of The Hospitals of Providence. “The name ‘Providence’ carries the legacy of excellence in healthcare for our city and we have chosen to honor our namesake by naming our entire network of care after it.”

The Hospitals of Providence covers the El Paso Region to include West Texas and Southern New Mexico. The system includes Memorial Campus, Providence Children’s, Sierra Campus, East Campus, Transmountain Campus; Imaging Centers; Trawood and Northeast Emergency Rooms; Paso del Norte and El Paso Day Surgery Centers; Teen Health Resource Centers; Wound Care and Hyperbaric Centers; In-patient Rehabilitation Program; Outpatient Therapy Centers; MedPost and MedPost Kids Urgent Care Centers; and ‘A New Me’ Surgical Weight-Loss Program. The Hospitals of Providence is dedicated to continuing the over-60-year commitment legacy to the El Paso Community.
