New Catholic Radio Station set to Start Broadcasting Sunday

The Diocese of El Paso has signed a contract with Entravision to begin broadcasting and live streaming in both Spanish and English 24 hours a day, seven days a week at 1150 AM, KHRO, which will be renamed “The Bridge: Catholic Radio for the Borderland.”

Via a news release, Bishop Mark J. Seitz says, “Our Holy Father, Pope Francis, in union with a long line of his predecessors has challenged us forcefully to reach out beyond the walls of our churches, to truly make our Faith present in the midst of the world. This is what we hope to do through radio broadcasting.”

“We will carry the Mass, the Rosary and other traditional Catholic Prayers,” Bishop Seitz added.

This project will be overseen by the diocese’s Office of Communications and JoJo Garcia, a new member of the staff with a lifetime of experience in every aspect of the medium.

The official beginning of the Catholic programming on “The Bridge” will be Sunday morning January 8th, with the live broadcast of the 10:00 a.m. Mass from the Cathedral with the Most Rev Mark J. Seitz, D.D.
