In addition to introducing a Montessori education option, beginning with the 2023-24 school year El Paso ISD will now offer:
- Free half-day Pre-K 3 for all 3-year-olds
- Free full-day Pre-K 3 for qualifying 3-year-olds
- Parents with 3-year-olds not eligible for free all-day pre-kindergarten can pay $275 per month tuition to attend all day.
All-day pre-kindergarten for 4-year-olds remains free for all students. For information on eligibility requirements for free all-day Pre-K 3, go to episd.org/starthere.
The 12 campuses offering all-day pre-kindergarten for 3-year-olds in 2023-24 include:
- Aoy Elementary
- Barron Elementary
- Cielo Vista Elementary
- Clendenin Elementary
- Guerrero Elementary
- Hillside Elementary
- Mesita Elementary
- Moreno Elementary (Montessori)
- Powell Elementary
- Western Hills Elementary
- Whitaker Elementary
- Zach White Elementary
Aoy, Cielo Vista, Whitaker and Zach White elementary schools also will be offering extended-day childcare from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. These campuses will provide care for students before and after regular school hours on site at the campus. It differs from day care in that students’ care will focus on literacy and enrichment, which will prove beneficial for their academic growth.
The district will mark another historic milestone during the 2023-24 academic year when it introduces a Montessori education option. The renowned teaching method arrives at Moreno Elementary School next year and will teach students ages 3-6 to look within, think creatively and become capable of rising to new challenges.
