New giveaway encourages residents to ‘Buy El Paso’…at Home

The Better Business Bureau Paso del Norte’s “Buy El Paso” campaign is launching a Buy El Paso at Home Giveaway.

“The giveaway encourages the community to continue to support local businesses while staying at home and abide by local health orders which are designed to combat the historic outbreak of COVID 19 in our community,” BBB officials shared via a news release.

With new health orders from both the City and County of El Paso in place which require people to only leave their homes for essential items, the BBB is highlighting local businesses that are also doing their part.

Businesses are taking extra precautions like limiting hours and capacity or switching to pickup or delivery only.

“The BBB encourages the community to practice safer methods in supporting these businesses while staying at home. Alternatives to supporting local businesses include ordering delivery and/or pickup, shopping online and showing your support by tagging local businesses on social media,” BBB officials added.

The Buy El Paso at Home Giveaway on the Buy El Paso Instagram asks participants to,

  1. Order online (or do curbside pickup) from a local business that has signed the City’s Pledge to Safety.
  2. From the safety of your home, post a picture of your order on your feed, tag & follow @buyelpaso, & use the hashtag #buyelpasoathome.
  3. Tag your favorite local businesses in the comments below.

One winner will receive a grand prize of up to $250 in gift certificates from local businesses and the first 150 entries will receive a Limited Edition Buy El Paso T-Shirt designed by local artist Christin Apodaca.

The Grand Prize winner of the Buy El Paso at Home Giveaway will be chosen Sunday, November 8, and the 150 T-shirt winners will be contacted via email.

All prizes will be sent to winners via US Mail.

Buy El Paso is brought to you by BBB Paso del Norte using federal CARES Act funds allocated by the City of El Paso.
