New York Times Writer To Speak On Illegal Drug Trade Monday

Ioan Grillo is a New York Times columnist who has been reporting on the Mexican and Latin American illegal drug trade since 2001.

Grillo is the author of the books “Gangster Warlords: Drug Dollars,” “Killing Fields and The New Politics of Latin America,” and “El Narco: Inside Mexico’s Criminal Insurgency.”

Admission is free and a reception will follow the presentation.

The Hunt Institute works to foster the economic and social well-being of the communities in the Paso del Norte region (West Texas, Southern New Mexico, and Northern Chihuahua, Mexico).

The institute aims to produce and disseminate high-quality research regarding cross-border economic and social development through the engagement of regional stakeholders within government, academia, and the private and public sectors.
