NMSU Faculty, Students Showcase Choreography at Local Performance

Choreography by students and faculty in the New Mexico State University Dance Program will be on display during a performance at Las Cruces High School.

The NMSU Dance Program and the Department of Kinesiology and Dance, which is housed in the College of Education, will host “Motion Studies,” an evening of dance performed by the NMSU Contemporary Dance Theater, at 7:30 p.m. April 8-9 at Las Cruces High School, 1755 El Paseo Road. Tickets are $10 in advance, and $15 at the door.

Under the direction of faculty member Ann Gavit, students and faculty will showcase their diverse and compelling choreography. Proceeds from ticket sales will be used to fund scholarships and allow members of the Contemporary Dance Theater to travel to the American College Dance Festival.

Advance tickets are available at the Kinesiology and Dance office located in Room 204 of the James B. Delamater Activity Center on the NMSU Campus, or from any Dance Program member. For more information, call 575-646-4067.
