The New Mexico State University Engineering New Mexico Resource Network is accepting applications for the 2017 PREP Middle and High School Academies.
PREP is a summer residential camp that provides diverse, high-achieving middle and high school students the chance to explore science, technology, engineering and mathematics careers.
PREP Middle School Academy will be held June 4-15 and is open to grades sixth through eighth. This program is a two-week residential summer program that provides students with real-world experiences in engineering innovation through inquiry and hands-on learning.
Students will be immersed in engineering activities, live in the campus dorms, attend a variety of social and leadership activities and participate in a field trip.
PREP High School Academy will be held June 18-30 and is open to students in grades ninth through 12th. This program is a two-week residential summer program that exposes students to the engineering design process, applied use of engineering software, advanced manufacturing using 3-D printers, and the ability to implement their engineering skills with real-world projects. Students will live in the campus dorms, participate in a variety of social and leadership activities and participate in field trips within the local area.
There is no charge to participate in the NM PREP Academies, but space is limited. Participants will be selected based on a review of submitted applications.
