No big winner for Powerball; One El Paso ticket matches 5 of 5 for $1m

While millions of Americans crossed their fingers and rubbed their lucky rabbit’s foot, it was all for naught, as no one matched all the numbers in Saturday night’s multi-state Powerball Lottery.

However, one lucky El Pasoan joins two other Texans who successfully matched 5 of 5 numbers, without the Powerball number. The holder of that ticket “only” wins $1 million. According to the Texas Lottery Website, that winning ticket was sold at the 7/11 located at 8160 Gateway East.

The two other tickets were sold in Austin and Cove, Texas.

The jackpot, which ballooned to more than $900 million, before Saturday night’s drawing went unclaimed as nobody matched the six numbers correctly:  16-19-32-34-57 with 13 as the Powerball number. The power play was 3x.

With no winner, Wednesday’s drawing is estimated to be at least $1.3 billion or roughly $800 million if you opt for the cash option.
