OKC’s Late Rally Dooms Dogs, Dodgers beat EP 4 to 2

The Oklahoma City Dodgers scored four late runs to come back and beat the El Paso Chihuahuas 4-2 Saturday night at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

Three of Oklahoma City’s runs were unearned, as El Paso made three errors in the game. Chihuahuas’ starter Bryan Rodriguez threw six innings without allowing an earned run and has now tossed 12 consecutive innings with only one earned run crossing against him.

The Chihuahuas struck first when Jose Rondon lined an RBI single in the top of the second, his first Triple-A hit. One inning later, Carlos Asuaje hit an RBI single to right field, scoring Manuel Margot to make it 2-0 El Paso.

Oklahoma City scored in three consecutive innings, once in the sixth, twice in the seventh and once in the eighth and held on to win.

Former Padre Will Venable reached base four times Saturday, going 3-for-3 with a walk for Oklahoma City. Margot, Asuaje, Nick Torres and Hector Sanchez had two hits each for El Paso in the loss.

Margot threw out Yasiel Puig at home plate to end the bottom of the first inning, his league-leading 17th outfield assist of the year.
