In an effort to eliminate barriers that impair homeless and low-income individuals to access health care, the Opportunity Center for the Homeless invites the public to participate in the 4th bi-annual H.O.P.E. Clinic.
The H.O.P.E. clinic will offer Blood tests, Foot Check Ups, Vaccines, Vision and Hearing Screenings, and on-site lab test for HIV, Hepatitis C, Tuberculosis, and Syphilis, among others.
Additionally, vouchers for pap smears, immunizations, and cancer screenings will be provided during both sessions at no cost to participants.
H.O.P.E. stands for Health, Opportunity, Prevention, and Education; and it’s an initiative in partnership with UTEP’s College of Health Sciences, San Vicente Family Health Clinic, among other agencies. Over 60 higher education students will assist participants in getting free services and health education sessions.
The previous clinic was held on April 18th of this year, and provided free services to close to 200 individuals.
