El Paso’s Orangetheory Fitness Coronado location is currently collecting donations now and throughout October for Afghanistan allies and evacuees currently being housed at Fort Bliss.
“Orangetheory Fitness is all about celebrating More Life and supporting the community,” organizers cited as the reason for the drive.
Organizers say clothing in all sizes is needed for men, women and children. New items are preferred and lightly used items must be clean before donating.
Priority items include hijabs, long skirts and women’s long pants, men’s long sleeve t-shirts, short sleeve t-shirts and long pants. Baggy fit is preferred. Children’s and infant priority clothing includes light jackets and windbreakers.
New undergarments for women, men and children are also urgently needed.
In addition, footwear, including shower slip-ons, sandals, walking shoes and boots in all sizes are needed. New items are preferred.
Shower items, such as hair brushes, nail clippers, tote bags, gym bags and pediatric face masks are also being accepted. Balls and board games are being accepted, however, no other toys may be donated at this time.
To streamline distribution, donors are asked to sort their donations by type.
