Oshinbanjo Represents Miners in First Day of C-USA Championships

Charlotte, N.C. – Senior Rebecca Oshinbanjo was the lone Miner to take the track in the first day of action at the 2019 Conference USA Outdoor Championships on Thursday.

Oshinbanjo competed in the first four events of the heptathlon at the Irwin Belk Track. She won the first event of the day, claiming the crown in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.08.

The multi-event athlete went on to finish 11th overall in the high jump with a leap of 1.55m.

The senior posted a mark of 9.01m in the shot put. She finished the day of action with a third-place finish in the 200m (25.47).

Oshinbanjo sits in eighth place after the first day of the heptathlon. She will return to the field tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. MT in the long jump (heptathlon).
