On Sunday, June 12 at 7:00 AM, Paisano Drive (US 85) between Sunland Park Drive and Executive Center Boulevard will be fully closed.
The road is being closed in order to expedite the construction work in the area. Originally scheduled for 18 months, the team will aim for it to be accomplished in only 8 months.
TxDoT officials said the closure is to remove old infrastructure, build 19 new bridges and move over one million cubic yards of earthwork. The new roadway will be built and open to traffic within Winter 2017.
Drivers are encouraged to use the following detours and alternative routes during the closure.
Businesses in the area (Shamaley Buick GMC, Sunland Park Fiat and Sunland Park Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram) will still be accessible during construction.
