Officials with the Parks and Recreation Department announced Friday the reopening of several recreation centers and the return of all sports activities.
Reopening in phases was announced the beginning of April to include select facilities and programs.
The decision to reopen comes after consulting and obtaining support from the Office of Emergency Management, the Department of Public Health, and the City-County Local Health Authority.
Reopening April 17
- Selected Recreation centers
- Nations Tobin Sports Center
- Spray Parks (including El Paso Zoo & San Jacinto Plaza)
Independent and City Outdoor Adult Sports and activities along with Youth and Adult Indoor Sports will resume Saturday, April 17. The return of tournaments for both Youth and Adults will remain on hold.

While officials add that Wi-Fi Centers are still closed, accessibility to computers with Wi-Fi will be available at all open recreation centers.
Visitors will be required to adhere to current COVID-19 safety guidelines, including the use of a face covering inside facilities except when participating in physical activities.
